Merry Christmas from the Michelini Family

2010 has been a year of change for me and with that change has come healing. First of all, I haven’t had hardly any episodes of my FAS for the whole year! What a blessing! It was suggested that a medicine change might be able to help, so I took the idea to my doctor and we tried it. I am thankful for that healing change!

In July, I was offered a position with the YMCA to work in one of the elementary schools here in Fishers as a K+ (Kindergarten Plus) Lead Teacher. Though I miss the families and friends of my old school, the change has brought a healing I didn’t even realize I needed. I am so blessed with the 58 and kindergarteners and two assistants that I work with every week. I am learning new things about myself and other s all the time.

Another change this year that has brought much joy and self discovery, is the amount of time I have spent on the stage this year. Early in the year Mara, Gemma and I were all in Annie at our local Fishers theatre. I played various roles including: Mrs. Greer, Frances Perkins and Sophie the Kettle. This fall Mara, Celia, Gemma and I were in 101 Dalmations, where I played the Nanny. And as I write this, I have 3 performances left of A Christmas Story where I am playing Ralphie Parker’s Mother. I get to say that famous line, “You’ll shoot your eye out.” It has been such a gift to be able to explore this creative side of myself on stage.

As I have found an outlet for my new creative side, I have also found a new appreciation for Gil and all that he does to keep the family going while I am off rehearsing and performing. This has most surely been the most healing year of our 22 years of marriage yet! Thank you Jesus for that special gift!

I pray the healing gift of the Lord Jesus Christ bless you in the most deep and special way.

Merry Christmas!
